In Scalzi's experimental novel, a Hollywood agent named Thomas Stein takes them on as a client because the Yherajk want to assimilate seamlessly into life on Earth—and what better way than as actors? Narrator Wil Wheaton animates the slapstick text with a tone that is appropriate for the story of a young Tinsel Town agent whose other clients are either equally deranged or aren't making him much money. No doubt Wheaton's work as Wesley Crusher of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” helped him with this production. He achieves his goal of convincing listeners to suspend disbelief amid a fanciful premise that elicits mostly laughter.
