When he sets out to solve them, much violence and sex ensue. The plot, by the author of LA CONFIDENTIAL, seems implausible, even for Los Angeles. But L.J. Ganser's confident delivery grows on you until you almost believe that the bizarre events are actually happening. He gives every character an individual voice and personality, which, given the prevailing level of psychological disturbance, is not a trivial feat.
