THE HERO OF CAPE LONELY LIGHT
Geoffrey T. Williams
Read by Dennis F. Regan

This 2007 Audie Award finalist is written, produced, and self-published by an author of children's books. In rhyming couplets, it tells of a clever cat who inhabits a lighthouse and how he attempts to save an imperiled ship during a storm. By itself the plot would appear ordinary, even stale. The execution gives it its distinction. The story is simple, the narration skillful, and the mix of sound effects and original music complex. Lush, lyrical, and evocative, the production almost sings. It feels like a traditional folk ballad, beautifully sung and orchestrated. A memorable half-hour of listening. Y.R.
