Russell Boulter delivers a smashing performance with a variety of accents in this thriller involving courageous heroines. Geoff Howells, a former MI6 assassin, is reactivated and sent to Hong Kong to kill Simon Ng, the head of the Chinese Mafia. Memorable characters like Ng, his wife, Jill, and small daughter, Sophie; two CIA operatives; a cute female assassin from the People’s Republic; and a soft-hearted bar girl all become entangled in kidnapping, murder, and espionage. Boulter excels at a plethora of accents—Scots, British, mainland ethnic Chinese, Hong Kong American and British—and he depicts various classes equally well.
