DEATH'S OWN DOOR

by | Read by Peter Wickham

Mystery & Suspense • 11 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2001

Towards the end of the latest in the Lydmouth series, the author neatly ties up a series of past and present murders. But we’re left with an eerie ending and a lack of certainty as to who really carried out the crimes. Inspector Thornhill, diligent and persistent, has more than the murders on his mind. His lover, reporter Jill Francis, is not only doing her own investigation of the case but both are often distracted by the uncertainty of their future together. Thornhill's wife, Edith, is also involved because she knew those who died. Peter Wickham's voices are well matched to the characters, and he portrays women exceptionally well. The plot unwinds slowly, but with this fine narration it doesn't seem so. S.S.R. © AudioFile 2010, Portland, Maine [Published: AUGUST 2010]
