Dean Koontz rarely reads his work out loud as he writes, although he’s getting a little more used to the idea—after all, he does sometimes laugh when writing a funny passage, or cry over the sad parts, so maybe an occasional reading out loud isn’t so bad, as long as no one but the dog is listening.
