The subject of the biography is a Welsh jockey of some fame, who later in life took up writing thrillers with his wife. Christopher Kay uses different voices and accents conservatively, not distracting from lots of background information about Francis's life. Kay is easy to understand, and his comfortable pace makes a pleasant performance that will interest sports fans, especially those who play the ponies.
