Narrator James Daniels depicts this romantic, suspenseful ghost story with finesse, switching Cajun accents as he navigates between Declan Fitzgerald and the restoration of Manet Hall in 2002, to betrayal, rape, and murder in the early 1900s. Haunted by the cries of a baby, Fitzgerald relives the past doggedly while he restores Manet Hall to its former pristine glory. Sandra Burr executes female leads with such realism the listener is held captive. She switches from past to present with ease as Fitzgerald's modern-day love story plays out among ghosts of the past.
