TRIAL AND RETRIBUTION II

by | Read by Christian Rodska

Mystery & Suspense • 8 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1998

Three women, two of whom are prostitutes, are gruesomely assaulted, with only one surviving the attacks. Detective Sergeant Walker is in charge of the case but is distracted from his usual careful case-building by the recent breakup of his marriage. He knows that Damon Morton is responsible for the crimes but fails to build a case that will hold up in court. This is a gripping tale that is, for the most part, handled well by Christian Rodska. The difficulty lies with some of the characters' voices, the Jamaicans' in particular, which at first come across as Irish. Most of the British characters are well drawn, but, on occasion, the dialect is a bit heavy, and it's hard to understand some of the dialogue. Overall, the performance maintains a high level of suspense and excitement, but the detailed descriptions of the assaults might be too much for some. S.S.R.
