CHRIST A Crisis in the Life of God

by | Read by Grover Gardner

Philosophy & Religion • 12 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2001

Miles analyzes the New Testament as a literary critic. He treats the transformations in the divine as matters of character, and searches the words and actions of Jesus for clues to the deeper motivations behind them. The result is intriguing and challenging, and Grover Gardner's narration contributes to its success. Miles repeatedly moves from explicit arguments to dramatizations of Christ's interactions, and Gardner switches pace and emphasis to ease these shifts in focus. At times, Miles explicates Greek, Aramaic, and Hebrew terms, and Gardner handles them all smoothly. The only drawback to his narration is his tone, which sometimes seems overly ironic for the subject matter. G.T.B. (c) AudioFile 2002, Portland, Maine [Published: OCT/ NOV 02]
