WINSTON CHURCHILL REPORTING Adventures of a Young War Correspondent

by | Read by Simon Vance

Biography & Memoir • 8.75 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2015

Simon Vance's British accent gives an impeccable pedigree to this audiobook, which actually asks why we need another work about Churchill. The short answer is that he was a complex, experienced, worldly man who tapped into his expertise when history called on him to make a difference. The long answer is in books like this that reveal the nature of a person and how he or she reacts under adverse conditions. Vance reads clearly and with excellent diction, and he paces himself so that listeners can follow Churchill's experiences around the world. In the end, though, the book sounds like many others about Churchill or English exploits before WWI. It's interesting, but it's not new or fresh.
