Narrator Robert Petkoff creates an exceptional experience for listeners who are seeking the perfect audiobook this summer. The author draws the listener in immediately, introducing key characters before tragedy strikes: A private plane crashes into the sea. The only survivors are Scott Burroughs, a painter who joined the flight at the last minute, and a 4-year-old child whom Scott saves from drowning. Hawley revisits these events, and the lives of the characters, moving between past and present as he unfolds the mystery of what happened on that flight. Listeners need not worry about losing track of the narrative as Petkoff’s performance is vivid and engaging.
