This title is the seventh and final volume in Australia's award-winning Tomorrow When the War Began series. Upon returning from a camping trip, Ellie and her six friends discover that their country has been overtaken. They join the war zone that was once their home in order to fight the enemy. Hearing the story in the first person, from Ellie's viewpoint, one feels very much a part of the action, the fear, and "kill-or-be-killed" mentality. Narrator Suzi Dougherty presents the horrors of war in a pace and manner appropriate to a painful subject.
