This complicated plot is a hodgepodge of spiritualism, politics, seances, revenge, and murder. Page painstakingly escorts the reader through the maze with charisma. Particularly appealing is his insight into Thomas and Charlotte's dynamic relationship, so endearing to listeners and vital in Thomas's ability to crack his cases.
