THE KARATE PRINCESS AND THE LAST GRIFFIN & THE KARATE PRINCESS IN MONSTA TROUBLE

by | Read by Judy Bennett

Children Ages 8+ • 3 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1999

This production showcases two stories about Belinda, a.k.a. the Karate Princess. Life as a Karate Princess is not easy. People are always questioning Belinda's talents and expecting her to be more demure, but Belinda uses her wit and strength to win people over and save the day. Like Belinda herself, Judy Bennett is bold in her narration, and her risks pay off. At one point in the first book, Bennett stops, takes a pause, and then starts whispering. It's an inspired moment. Bennett's slobbering voice for the Grand Oompah of Pomposity and her high-pitched squeak for Belinda's uncle are perfect for the characters they portray. Her over-the-top style suits the over-the-top situations, and the whole makes for a fast-paced and satisfying listen. A.F. (c) AudioFile 2002, Portland, Maine [Published: DEC 02/ JAN 03]
