PROPHET

Narrator Richard Ferrone takes a slow moving Christian soap opera and delivers it with his usual verve. John Barrett is a television anchor who deeply disagrees with his "prophet" father--until dad dies suspiciously while delivering a tirade on abortion. After that, John mends his ways, making peace with his long neglected mother and son. He takes to the screen to reveal the shameful truth--politicians and the media manipulate the news for their own ends. If it weren't for Ferrone's polish, the simple ideas stated over and over and the repetitious expressions like "good grief" and "oh, brother" would discourage most readers.
