SLEEP NO MORE

by | Read by Dick Hill

Mystery & Suspense • 11 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2002

John Waters's life begins to unravel when he meets Eve Sumner in his hometown of Natchez, Mississippi. Dick Hill delivers an outstanding performance in this supernatural tale of soul transfer (which only occurs during sexual intercourse), passion, and murder--with Waters as the prime suspect. From Hill's first words, the listener senses this will be a chilling story. His Southern accents are totally first-rate, with voices matching personality, age, and gender. The challenge to change the voices of characters, both male and female, as they become inhabited by another's soul is also successfully met. Unfortunately, a strong performance with good pacing and tempo doesn't totally make up for a book that is too long and repetitious. SLEEP NO MORE would have much more success in abridged form. S.S.R.
