UNCIVIL RITES Palestine and the Limits of Academic Feeedom

Professor Salaita's termination by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has been a much reported story of the muzzling of academic freedom by academia's business interests. Salaita's clear, concise writing is echoed in Tristan Morris's dignified delivery. Salaita recounts his reasons for speaking publicly against Israel's encroachment on Palestine, which resulted in--in his interpretation of events--the university's management punishing intellectual discourse for its potential impact on private funding.
