YOGA AS A FORM OF MEDITATION

by | Read by Yogi Amrit Desai, Deepak Chopra

Personal Growth • 1 hr. • Audio Program • © 2002

Often oversimplified, the ancient practice of yoga is given fresh relevance by Yogi Desai and his host at the Chopra Center. The speakers explain that meditative yoga allows us to experience conflicts between discovered energy forces and the fabricated views of ourselves and the world that occupy our attention most of the time. Though all but a few minutes of the program are spontaneous, the yogi and Chopra couldn't be more eloquent as they describe approaches to yoga and connect them to other spiritual traditions. Aesthetically, the voices here are joyful, generous, optimistic, but very well grounded. The yogi's eager passion is balanced by Chopra's calm and utter certainty about his grasp of the human condition. T.W. (c) AudioFile 2002, Portland, Maine [Published: DEC 02/ JAN 03]
