IF LOOKS COULD KILL

by | Read by Parker Posey

Mystery & Suspense • 6 hrs. • Abridged • © 2002

GLOSS MAGAZINE editor Cat Jones's nanny eats poisoned chocolates and dies. Jones asks crime writer Bailey Weggin to find out what happened. Was the poison meant for Cat? The nanny was nubile and ambitious; the world of magazine publishing is cutthroat. Suspects abound. Parker Posey as Bailey tells her story confidentially and a bit breathlessly as if it just happened and she has to get it off her chest. None of players in this lightweight drama are individualized, but perhaps such superficial treatment is meant to reflect their shallowness. Author Kate White is editor-in-chief of COSMOPOLITAN, so she knows of what she writes. This would be a good tape to take in the car, amusing but forgettable. J.B.G.
