CORUM 2 The Queen of the Swords

by | Read by Nanette Savard and a Full Cast

Audio Theater • 5 hrs. • Audio Program • © 2015

With character names like Lord Arioch, the villainous Xiombarg, and Glandyth-a-Krae and cty names like Lywm-an-Esh--the cast of this production has its work cut out for it in helping listeners keep it all straight. It's immensely beneficial that the actors have distinctive voices so that it's actually easy to differentiate the characters. While too much time is wasted in the beginning detailing previous characters and events, the musical score and special effects help drive the performance. The story, written in 1971, is a science fiction space opera with heroes who face impossible odds to save the world. Once listeners adjust to the unwieldy nomenclature, the book is quite fun.
