MIDNIGHT VOICES

Caroline Evans, whose husband, Brad, was murdered in Central Park just one year earlier, meets Anthony Fleming, a dashing man who lives in the Rockwell, one of the "creepier" nineteenth-century apartment buildings on Central Park West. Their swift courtship and marriage disturbs Caroline's children, Laurie and Ryan, and her closest friend, Angela, a social worker with a sickly client in the Rockwell. Aasne Vigessa's thin, sharp voice echoes in the hollow secret passages of the Rockwell. She reads the nightmares and behind-the-scenes action in an emotionally detached manner, adding to the tension and mystery.
