FLIGHT Rhiannon's Interactive Guide to Vocal Improvisation

by | Read by Rhiannon, Joey Blake, Laurel Murphy, Linda Tillery, Jeanie Tracy, David Worm

Personal Growth • 2.25 hrs. • Audio Program • © 2000

Even if you're not an aspiring singer, it will be hard not to respond to this totally hip musical lesson on releasing one's vocal creativity. The author has previously collaborated with renowned improvisational singer Bobby McFerrin and has been a pioneer in teaching and promoting improvisational singing. In the first half, lively instructions are offered on an almost continuous track of spectacular jazz singing and piano accompaniment. The music is invigorating to hear all by itself. The second half of the program, entirely musical, is an incredibly energizing experience. Yet this is also a measured lesson that takes the student to greater vocal heights in progressive stages and, along the way, inspires excitement about this form of expression and this collection of vocal artists.
