SITTING BY THE WELL

by | Read by Marion Woodman

Personal Growth • 9.5 hrs. • Audio Program • © 1998

This is an important program from a Jungian analyst who is very articulate about the feminine psyche. Though it's edited from recorded seminars held from 1991 through 1997, there is little discontinuity or repetition in the talks. Not an introductory program, it will require familiarity with Jung's ideas about mind and spirit. Woodman says that by getting in touch with the full palette of dreams, images, and metaphors she discusses, one finds particles of the self that are seldom discovered in the concrete, literal world. Though the symbolism might be challenging for listeners accustomed to the language of social science, the author's down-to-earth presence makes it seem rich in meaning and utterly familiar. T.W.
