THE PATH TO ENLIGHTENMENT

The third Dali Lama wrote the ESSENCE OF REFINED GOLD to summarize the teachings of the Buddha. The fourteenth (and current) Dali Lama (Tenzin Gyatso) offers a discourse on the earlier work. Narrator Ken McLeod is easy to listen to. Reading with clarity, he offers a serious and steady presentation at a pace that allows listeners to think about what they're hearing. A thoughtful study of the basic precepts of Buddhism is presented in an accessible format. Both the abridgment and the adaptation to the audio format are smoothly done. J.E.M.
