HOME TO HARMONY

Quaker Sam Gardner, portrayed by Norman Dietz, delights with the story of his first year as pastor in the small town of Harmony, where we meet his wife and his most interesting flock of church-goers. Dietz depicts Gardner in a pleasant but undeniably masculine voice, with a light, dry humor. Dietz's description of the Coffee Cup Café, where a replica of the Last Supper hangs over the salad bar, will amuse listeners. Reminiscent of Mark Twain and Garrison Keillor, HOME TO HARMONY won the Christy Award for Best Contemporary Fiction.
