HUMPHREY BOGART ON THE RADIO

In the days before VCRs, we had to wait for our favorite classics to show up on television or at the local revival cinema. Some of the charm is lost now that classic films are no farther than the local video store. Nevertheless, Bogart fans and film buffs will enjoy this collection of radio adaptations, which include TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE, TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT, CASABLANCA, THE MALTESE FALCON, and THE AFRICAN QUEEN. Bogart is featured in each program, although some of the supporting parts are played by actors different from those in the films. Katharine Hepburn and Walter Brennan are conspicuously absent from THE AFRICAN QUEEN and TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT, while other notables like Ingrid Bergman, Paul Henreid, Lauren Bacall, Mary Astor, and Sidney Greenstreet reprise their film roles.
