PRISONERS OF HOPE

Rescued by U.S. Special Forces from a Taliban prison in November 2001, Dayna Curry and Heather Mercer were being held at the time of the 9/11 attack for teaching Christianity and helping oppressed women and children. A familiar story of courage and commitment to Christ's calling rises above the ordinary because of the complex interactions they had with their suddenly famous captors and the Afghan women also being held. The authors talk about their faith and fears throughout their captivity, but their steadfastness takes the tension out of the story.
