This somewhat disjointed radio theater production is an overview, along with some trivia, of the conflict itself and the Reconstruction that followed. It is disjointed in that events are sometimes presented out of chronological order. The basic format for each of the eight presentations is a narrator who presents most of the story, with different performers offering comments by participants or eyewitnesses to events. There are also some accompanying music and sound effects, which are quite complementary. Dennis Stone has a pleasing baritone voice with good diction and a steady delivery.
