THE VISITATION

In this inspirational thriller, loner Brandon Nichols appears in the east Washington farming town of Antioch one spring day. At his touch, a bullet falls out of the police chief's war wound, and the hardware store owner stands up and walks on his formerly useless legs. Mrs. Macon, a rich widow, hires Nichols to work her huge cattle ranch, and the sick start coming in droves. But when nasty, senseless fights break out among them, it's clear to local Pentecostal minister Travis Jordan that it's time to expose this self-proclaimed messiah as an imposter. Richard Ferrone's rugged voice brings Peretti's characters into focus and creates a momentum that carries the listener to the novel's terrifying climax. E.V.
