Concluding the Bourbon Kings trilogy, narrator Alexander Cendese immediately draws the listener into the Kentucky setting. Lane Baldwine is left to try to save his family's bourbon empire after his older brother confesses to their father's murder. Lane is convinced his brother is covering for someone else. Cendese does a fine job with the male voices, using a smooth Southern accent. His female characters have a nasal quality, but Cendese's narration of the rest of the story more than compensates for this slight distraction. The listener will become entrenched in the story by Cendese's easy dialogue. His excellent narration contributes to a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.
