CONSPIRACY OF PAPER

The motto of financial mysteries is always "follow the money" to learn the source of the corruption or the identity of the murderer/thief. The same is true of this intricate murder mystery set in 1715. In London a Jewish stockjobber (stock trader) dies mysteriously a day after one of his clients commits suicide, and Benjamin Weaver, the estranged son of the trader, budding sleuth and former pugilist, seeks the answer. Cumpsty keeps the action going amidst murder, mayhem, archaic language and complicated sentence structure. There is never an accent out of place as Cumpsty portrays German and Dutch/Portuguese immigrants, a Scottish doctor and Brits of various stations and origins.
