Stevie Ray Dallimore uses tone and nuance to portray love and danger as he depicts Luke Creed, attorney for Hyland Pharmaceuticals, as a driven professional and a caring divorced father. Creed is determined to excel in defending Hyland from lawsuits over D-Free, a new diabetic drug; success in his endeavor will earn him a partnership in the firm. Dallimore characterizes Creed with complexity as he's torn between ambition and ethical conflict. Then his research on the drug reveals that his diabetic 8-year-old daughter is in mortal danger. While Dallimore's portrayal of Creed's high school sweetheart is disappointing, the story line, with its ensuing murder, keeps the listener's attention. G.D.W.
