THE TANGLED LANDS

Consummate narrators Kate Reading and Tim Gerard Reynolds alternate stories in this collection, which pairs a new novella with one originally published in 2010. The country has been overrun with a deadly bramble that continues to spread every time magic is used. To Reynolds falls the primary explication of the structure of the society and the havoc wreaked by the bramble in one of the original stories. Reading performs the two stories that are told by women. Strength and fortitude are integral to the women's personalities, but she does not shy away from showing their vulnerability.
