HOLY MOSES As Told by God's Animals

The subtitle suggests an interesting premise. These tales, focusing on the life of Moses, are narrated by his "friends," Dara and Cassandra (swans) and Brazin (a bear). Older, more discriminating children may be startled, as this listener was, at the move from Christian Bible stories (where God is at his least forgiving) into jazzy, fast-paced "sing-along" songs like "The Powerhouse" and "A Burning Bush." While this package does teach children about Moses in accessible language, the combination of stories and songs doesn't cohere particularly well. J.C.G.
