Fed up with being dangerously obese, A.J. Rochester, an Australian writer, performer, and comedian, pitches a national TV station to follow her around as she sets out to lose almost half of her body weight. Fortunately for viewers overseas and listeners around the world, the TV network accepts her proposal, and Rochester gets busy exercising, eating sensibly, and documenting the entire process. Rochester has an incredible sense of humor and laughs at her own foibles, setbacks, and neuroses. She is both encouraging and realistic throughout her journey, and maintains a genuine voice when recounting her trip. Rochester also has a gift for performance, which comes through loud and clear in this surprisingly touching production. H.L.S. 2004 Audie Award Finalist
