THE BOUNTY

Michael York navigates the fascinating story of the mutiny on the HMS BOUNTY in the late 1700s. Although versions of the tale have proliferated since Captain William Bligh's personal account was published in 1790, Alexander assimilates extensive documentation and research to offer "the true story." York lends appropriate British accents to the crew with his consistent, pleasant reading. Original music, along with ocean sound effects, accompanies the narration. York brings a dynamic tone to the brave heroics of Bligh, the cowardly grumblings of mutineer Fletcher Christian, and the politics underlying the resulting court-martials.
