THE GATES OF DAWN Volume II of the Chronicles of Blood and Stone

THE GATES OF DAWN is the second in Robert Newcomb's multivolume saga entitled The Chronicles of Blood and Stone. As is common in the fat fantasy genre, there are wise wizards who offer lengthy explanations of the magical rules of their universe to young chosen ones who need these things explained to them. Also common in fat fantasy--there's plenty of action with much at stake. The only thing atypical in this volume is Simon Jones, whose pleasant British accent makes the journey more enjoyable. However, its graphic sex and violence make this fantasy series less appropriate for young audiences. S.D.
