Macmillan Audio has a way with narrators, and here is a fine Christie presentation. David Timson captures the the bombastic Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot, with gleeful flair. Timson uses precise diction and shaded characterizations, calling to mind reader Patrick Tull (who reads many things, including seafaring books by Patrick O'Brian), but not as querulous. The result is excellent. The story involves several murders on a Nile riverboat. D.R.W. © AudioFile 2004, Portland, Maine [Published: FEB/ MAR 04]
