DEAD EVEN

In his latest legal thriller, Brad Meltzer places two lawyers in jeopardy as they battle each other in order to stay alive. Kate Burton is excellent as the voice of Sara Tate, the assistant D.A. who takes on a difficult case in order to save her job. In an ironic twist--both in terms of plot and production--Sara's husband, Jared, is forced to argue for the opposition, thereby pitting husband against wife. As Jared, Burton seems to lose some of the thorough characterization that she achieves with Sara. This is generally true of all the male voices.
