GHOST TO THE RESCUE!

The 250-year-old ghost of Lady Maisie has returned to help Rowan out of her latest difficulty. Mum is about to remarry, but her special medallion has been stolen, and Rowan must find it before the big day. Author Dunwoodie cleverly portrays the adolescent Rowan, her bored teenaged sister, and an ancient ghost. Narrator Vivien Heilbron captures the Edinburgh, American, and ghostly accents, along with singing a lovely ancient ballad as Lady Maisie. Young listeners not only learn about life in a different era, but also hear Old World speech patterns and word choices. The moving conclusion brings a sense of reality to a fanciful story.
