ALICE, I THINK

by | Read by Angela Goethals

Young Adult Young Adult • 6.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2003

This is a story for anyone who has ever felt the pain of not fitting in. Teenaged angst and neurotic parents create personal and social problems for young Alice. Angela Goethals portrays the home-schooled misfit well, as Alice tries to re-enter the mainstream during her high school years. Goethals's sassy voice, laced with attitude, brings Alice and all her problems to life. Her narration is strong for the other characters as well, from the counselor and the other misfit teens to the hippie-generation friends of her parents. Juby's story shows keen insight into a life that doesn't fit social norms. D.L.M.
