GOSSIE

This story of Gossie the gosling will be attractive to very young children because it contains soothing repetition. Linda Stephens reads emphatically and cheerfully, adding emotion when Gossie loses her favorite boots. She sounds matronly, like a warm grandmother. Each word is spoken definitively, to aid early readers. Unfortunately, the tape is so short that the promotional message at the end, read by a male narrator, is as long as the story. A.G.H.
