Reverend John is kidnapped by the British and forced to minister to their wounded and dead. Josie joins the North Carolina militia and takes part in a battle that marks the turning point of the Revolution. Reader Lina Patel speaks as Josie/Joseph while Paul Boehmer presents John Thethman's point of view. Both readers fit the material well, creating a riveting account of difficult lives and times.
