Narrator Johnny Heller brings author Nick Pirog's well-defined characters to life. This audiobook focuses on Thomas Prescott, a depressed former police officer and FBI consultant. At the start of the story, he returns to his hometown of Seattle. While visiting his boyhood home, he discovers the governor of Washington floating on the shore--dead. Not surprisingly, he soon finds himself in the middle of the investigation. Heller's delivery is ideal. His ability to define personalities for Pirog's many characters enhances the novel. The investigation has numerous plot twists and a surprising undercurrent of humor, all of which benefit from Heller's narration and distinguish this from other whodunits.
