Listeners unfamiliar with Mark Edwards's previous titles will have no reason to suspect Elliot's good fortune when a bee sting and Gemma's fast action with an EpiPen turn into a whirlwind romance and marriage. However, when her parents, James and Lizzie Robinson, and sister arrive for an extended visit, listeners soon learn that narrator James Langton has the opportunity to deliver a plot with twists worthy of a James Bond adventure. Something is fishy about the James Robinsons. Langton ably portrays Elliot as a person who believes he is dealing with a madman, while James is voiced with a threatening growl that makes it easy to picture him as the bully he is. The pace increases rapidly as Elliot tries to learn the truth about the Robinsons. E.J.F. © AudioFile 2019, Portland, Maine [Published: OCTOBER 2019]
