HAVANA RUN

HAVANA RUN is a cocktail made of testosterone and gunpowder, shaken vigorously. By the final CD, the bodies pile up so fast amid such sex and gore, so many improbable revelations, and so many explosions of various kinds that it's hard to keep from laughing. One soldiers on, however. An ex-cop named John Deal is persuaded to go to Cuba on a mission he doesn't understand, at the behest of a lot of angry and violent people with conflicting agendas. This is not restful for him. Scott Brick reads with admirable composure but not exactly as if anyone's life depended on it. Perfect for action fans, with a special bonus for Hemingway worshippers.
