Using an unhurried, contemplative pace, Addis captures a sense of walking through a gallery while considering and observing each scene as it unfolds. Addis effectively conveys Walter Yeung's accent and posturing as a powerful Chinese businessman in Hong Kong with perfect syntax and tone. Addis's sometimes intense portraits of other characters include Yeung's secretive son, Jeffrey, who is estranged from his father, and Nick, from Liverpool, who struggles with memories of his abusive father.
