THE PRIEST

The first in Rivers's Sons of Encouragement series tells the story of Moses, his younger brother, Aaron, and the Israelites as they flee Egypt. Chris Fabry narrates the story from Aaron's point of view, revealing a jealous younger brother molded by timing and circumstance. Using vocal nuance, pitch, and tight pacing, Fabry captures Aaron's struggles with self-doubt, sin, and failure. Fabry seamlessly depicts the discontent of the woman, children, and old men when Moses joins God on the mountain. The first half of the story focuses on Moses; the second half spotlights Aaron, his love for his brother, and his personal growth through adversity.
