THE SERPENTS TRAIL

by | Read by Lee Adams

Mystery & Suspense • 9 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2004

Sixty-three-year-old Maxie McNabb and her miniature dachshund, Stretch, travel to Grand Junction, Colorado, where they become involved in a mystery that takes Maxie on a hunt for hidden compartments in a Chipeta Avenue house. Henry's descriptions of western Colorado are full of authentic detail. Unfortunately, even though Lee Adams's reading is unobtrusive, allowing the story to ensnare the listener, her repeated mispronunciation of "Chipeta" (a name well known in western Colorado) and "Fruita" will be jarring to those who know the area. The inaccurate liner notes setting the mystery in Colorado Springs also show a lack of care on the part of the publisher. D.T.H. (c) AudioFile 2004, Portland, Maine [Published: OCT/ NOV 04]
